Pinballz Arcade (north Austin)

With all of this rain, we needed to find something to keep the kiddo entertained (as if two birthday parties in one day wasn’t enough!) but the hubs had his fill of excited children for the day so the usual indoor playscapes weren’t going to work. We found a great compromise in Pinballz Arcade.
Pinballz Arcade is a classic arcade lover’s heaven! This two-level arcade features over 80 pinball machines (including the 20 most popular pinball games of all time), rows of driving, shooting, ticket-dispensing games and some hard to find classics. Their games are geared toward older kids (their site says ages 8+) but our 4-year-old found enjoyment in the skee-ball machines, air hockey and the driving games.
Being in Pinballz is like walking down memory lane. Though I never was good at video games as a kid, I have fond memories of going to the local arcade with friends in junior high and high school. Their variety of games is impressive and the condition of their games is equally impressive.

Pinballz is a smoke-free, chew-free establishment, though they do serve alcohol from the snack bar.
Games are all coin operated and range from 2-4 tokens/coins per play. Tokens have a 25 cent value and can be purchased in $1, $5, $10 and $20 increments from coin dispensers or from the cashier. You can use quarters in the machines too.
They have reserved party spaces available and host tournaments as well.
If you’re into arcade games and want your kids to experience the games you grew up with, definitely check out Pinballz Arcade.
