Austin area photographer Mollie Kendall, giving back

We here at Little Austinite want to give a shoutout to the wonderful local photographer Mollie Kendall for giving back to the community and participating in this act of kindness. If you know an individual or a family who deserves the gift of photography but cannot afford it, please read further for nomination details.

♥ TIS THE SEASON – TO WIN PORTRAITS! ♥

I am happy to participate in the “Giving is Awesome” cause again this year. I would like to start by thanking Kristen Kalp of Essential Imagery for this truly awesome idea. She is not only one of the funniest, wittiest chickies I know, she is also the brainchild behind this incredible giving idea. Last year she encouraged photographers to donate during the holiday season and started this amazing website to track the donations of photographers all around the world! In total, $565,000 was donated. And now we’re ready to do it again {grin} Now, onto the awesomely awesomeness that is the heart of this season….the spirit of giving…..

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down several jobs, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love, and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $1500 worth, to be exact. This will cover cost of the the session itself, 10 gift prints and a disk of all the session’s images. It’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season. Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives a $200 gift print credit! What better reason to show some love could there possibly be, people? If you don’t really know someone, please pass this post along to others. Someone, somewhere, knows a deserving family. I know it!

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in Austin or its surrounding areas. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my giveaway. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.
