Kid to Kid consignment store (Lakeline)

I have been shopping and selling at Kid to Kid (Lakeline location) since the store opened, and I’ve watched this consignment store grow in the new (retail) section with their product offerings.  What surprised me is that each time I go into Kid to Kid, the new retail offerings fall into the category of what I would consider niche or boutique items and items that are popular among the attached parenting or cloth diapering crowd.

What I mean is that a stroller such as Phil & Ted’s is typically not even something that you would find at Babies ‘R Us, even though this is by far one of the better strollers (functionally and quality) that I have seen, and it is pricey!  So while you shop for deals on clothes, shoes, and toys, you can also get something higher end at the store as well.  They also carry Beco Butterfly baby carriers, and these are a notch up from even the more ubiquitous Ergo and Bjorn carriers.

Obviously consignment store merchandise varies depending upon what people are bringing in to resale, but I have found that the selection of clothes here is better than some consignments though not the best.   For a better clothes selection, I’d go to Once Upon a Child or Rock-a-Bye Baby, but if you want a better selection of toys with one stop shopping, then I’d come here.  Kid to Kid carries new Melissa and Doug merchandise (mostly puzzles and some of the bigger items like activity table and art supplies) on top of their toy shelves that is almost always brimming with second-hand ones.

What I have found is that typically the items which have been passed over at Rock-a-Bye Baby, maybe half of these, Kid to Kid will buy.  I typically get less selling here, but it is comparable to what I have gotten at Once Upon a Child.

Every person whom I have encountered here has been friendly and helpful if I have a question, but I rarely get asked if I need help finding something.  No one has ever batted even an eye at my child who can sometimes be unruly and take the ride-on vehicles for a spin around the store.  There used to be an area where the kids could play, but since the store remodeled, that play area now has shoes.

Payout: Kid to Kid pays up to 40% of what the item will resale for in the store.  They give you cash outright.  You get 20% more if you choose store credit.
